Your Firefly Edition is coated in a series of protective, high quality paints intended to ensure your sculpture's long lasting glow and intensity of color. Like all of our hand crafted sculptures, the Firefly Edition is made by skilled journeymen in our workshop near the Italian Alps. Ivan Black, Square Wave's inventor, has a profound fascination and innate passion for fluorescent sculptures, having designed several himself. We took inspiration from Ivan in creating this unique iteration of Square Wave that we hope you will find just as fascinating as we do! 

Square Wave was designed by the award winning artist Ivan Black. His work reflects a fascination and kinship with the mathematical patterns found everywhere in nature e.g. waves, leaves, shells, the human form etc. Tending towards the minimalist in design, his work reveals how order silently governs our seemingly disorderly world.

How Square Wave Firefly Works

Your Square Wave Firefly Edition has a UV activated, fluorescent paint coating with an extra protective layer, added to stop the paint's fluorescent abilities from depleting. Due to this additional protective coating your sculpture will continue to glow flawlessly far into the future. To get the best experience out of your Square Wave Firefly, bring it to a dark room and light the space with a black light to activate your sculpture's fluorescent properties. There are a variety of creative ways you can use and show your Firefly Edition. Even a small black light paired with a Square Wave Firefly on something as simple as a bedside table, will result in a fascinating and unforgettable display.
